International art on display at Goodbard House

A new piece of art - a lithograph piece by celebrated Catalan artist Antoni Tapies titled 'Semanas Catalanas en Berlin' - now adorns the lobby of Leeds' Goodbard House.

Tapies became one of Spain's most renowned artists in the 20th century.  In 2003 Tapies was awarded Spain's most prestigious art award, the Velazques prize, and he is credited as introducing contemporary abstract painting into Spain.  His abstract and avant garde works are on display in some of the world's most iconic galleries - as well as at the Tapies Foundation in Barcelona, which houses some 2000 works by the artist.
