Last phase of Belle Vue Mills is spun out

28/03/17

A selection of 39 new loft apartments are now available to buy, as work starts on the final phase of the prestigious Belle Vue Mills scheme, right in Skipton town centre.

The development, to be known as The Cotton Mill, will provide a mix of one and two-bedroomed loft-styled apartments alongside a new gym.

The Belle Vue Mills development, which overlooks the Leeds Liverpool Canal, already has an established residential community rooted in the mill’s textile history. Glista Mills, Eller House, and the recently completed McCarthy and Stone development, known as Mallory Court, provide a mix of new and converted apartments, alongside new offices, retail space and a recently announced proposal for a new health and fitness centre, all sit within this comprehensive development.

Construction on the scheme has now started, with Triton Construction having been appointed by the Rushbond Group, the award-winning development company behind Belle Vue Mills.  The apartments are due for completion from Autumn this year, and the first phase of apartments are available to buy now. Leading regional agency Dacre Son and Hartley has been appointed as the sales agent.

Richard Baker from Rushbond, says: “The history of the Mills, built for spinning cotton in the mid-1800s is fascinating and provides the inspiration behind our scheme. This final phase provides the last opportunity to buy a brand-new apartment within the historic Belle Vue Mills development, with all the modern comforts that a new home brings. The unrivalled location, right in the town centre, means there’s a full range of amenities and facilities to hand. The town’s railway station is only 300 metres away, so the location makes it easy to travel to Leeds, Bradford and beyond.

“The apartments will offer a very fresh European style, yet retain the essence of the Mill’s heritage, which we think will appeal not only to local people, but also to professionals working in Leeds and the wider area. Skipton is as much a gateway to Leeds as it is to the Yorkshire Dales, a twin attraction of living in this wonderful market town.

“With our strong track record for transforming historic buildings into exceptional homes, we expect these apartments will be extremely popular. We’ll be using all our experience to create a development that is really special and exceeds expectations in terms of quality, specification and design. The Cotton Mill represents our continued commitment to preserving the heritage fabric within the County whilst providing new contemporary homes, following on from our most recent schemes at St Leonard’s Place in York and Crispin Lofts in Leeds.”

Tim Usherwood, a director at Dacre, Son & Hartley, who heads up the firm’s Skipton office says: “There is a major shortage of high quality apartments in Skipton town centre, so we are anticipating plenty of interest in The Cotton Mill. Rushbond’s reputation for delivering stand-out first-rate schemes, the attractive nature of the mill buildings and their location all combine to make The Cotton Mill a very attractive offer to buyers from across the region.”

The first release of just ten apartments start from £115,000. For more details contact Dacre Son & Hartley’s Skipton office on 01756 701010 or visitwww.thecottonmill.co.uk to register interest.
