The developer behind York’s much anticipated St Leonard’s Place development has brought forward the next sales release following the resounding success of the initial launch.
Yorkshire based property group Rushbond is transforming the Grade II* listed regency crescent in the City’s cultural heart into five elegant townhouses, 29 grand apartments and six mews homes.
Mark Finch, Director of Real Estate at Rushbond, the award winning property group with an impressive track record for restoring listed buildings, says: “St Leonard’s Place, being surrounded by York’s finest buildings and fabulous parks, has such a rich heritage that we hoped it would be of interest to people wanting to live in the heart of the city and it certainly is proving to be.
“The scheme has undoubtedly captured the imagination of a huge variety of local, regional, national and international buyers, with nearly all of the first release already sold.
“The nature of the development has meant that we can offer a diverse collection of homes, across a wide range of types, sizes and price, so we have been able to respond to the needs and requirements of a mix of homebuyers.
“It was fitting to hold our launch event at the Yorkshire Museum, another wonderful building in the neighbouring Museum Gardens, attracting key representatives from both York’s and the region’s business community alongside a number of potential buyers.”
Savills in York is marketing the scheme and will now be launching the next sales release on Saturday 12th September 2015. This release includes a further mix of town houses, mews homes and apartments.
Tanya Coffey of Savills in York said: “Our expectations of interest, given the quality of the property and its location were high, but the level of enquiries we have experienced has surpassed all of our expectations.
“The opportunity to live in one of York’s most iconic heritage buildings within the City Walls, whilst benefitting from all of the advantages of City living in York, has certainly sparked great excitement in the scheme. With several properties going to best bids, nearly all of the first homes released are now committed, with just a few homes available for reservation. The next release will consist of a further mix of amazing homes, including the much anticipated release of a corner apartment in No 1 St Leonard’s Place, as well as apartments within the Museum Street frontage.”
Mark adds: “When it was built in Regency times, St Leonard’s Place was designed to be the finest residential address in the North and our plans to restore this status seem to have really been embraced. St Leonard’s Place is not only a stunning and importantgroup of properties, but it is set within an enviable location with fantastic cultural offerings and amenities right on its doorstep.”
