Becketts, Meanwood

Leeds

The re-development of the Becketts public house has provided a truly impressive mixed-use building that has helped to rejuvenate the heart of Meanwood Village. The building provides some 600 sqm of commercial space within 3 units with 24 apartments at the upper levels.

This award-winning scheme successfully combines commerce with living. The mix of spacious one and two bedroom apartments also benefit from basement car parking, albeit located on key public transport routes into and out of the City Centre of Leeds, some 10 minutes away.

The building has been designed to be both sympathetic to its surroundings but also to provide a positive and striking addition to the streetscene, with the use of timber cladding interspersed with red brick and blocks of white render. Designed in close consultation with local community groups, this important regeneration project has contributed to the on-going revitalisation of the Meanwood Village and its centre.
