First White Cloth Hall – “Winner” – Refurbishment & Renovation of the Year – Insider AwardsSeptember 27, 2022A historic grade II listed building, the First White Cloth Hall was on Historic England’s “at risk register” and partially demolished. Where possible, surviving elements of the original brick and stone walls have been conserved. 500 year old original timber trusses have been incorporated into the roof structure and the original 1711 West Wing has been reinstated, restoring the building’s symmetry and reintroducing the U-shaped floor plan.
